The "Grand Old Lady Of No-Man's Land" is a good reference on the entire line of Vickers machineguns, not just the actual "Grand Old Lady" - the Mark I.
History, development, tactics, the Machine Gun Corp, ammunition, accessories are all featured in this book. It is well illustrated throughout by many bw-photographs and diagrams. I would recommend it as a companion volume to Goldsmith's excellent "The Devil's Paintbrush", his book on the Maxim machinegun.
